Random Update:

It has been a while since having to update the blog and to be honest, I have been uber busy taking care of the kids and such! Since my last update, not too much has really happened. We took Grant to his pediatricians office to be weighed on Friday, January 3rd then a week later on Thursday, January 9th. He weighed 6 lbs. 2.5 oz's at the first visit and then 6 lbs 7.5 oz's at the next. He gained 5 ounces! They were very happy with the progress he has been making and felt no need to come back in for more weight checks until his next well check appointment!

During this time, we discovered a possible tooth coming in on the upper gum line! Weird, huh??!! We talked to the pediatrician about it and they said it happens...not often, but it happens. What is even more strange, is that it has now disappeared. Sounds strange...but I showed the pediatricians and many others. I even took a picture of it...so it was no figment of our imaginations! I have no idea where it has gone. It's another one of Grant's many mysteries!

Meanwhile, we have all been fighting some colds and viruses. Juliana has had a bad cold. Grant has been experiencing a stomach virus. He has been irritable and cranky, inconsolable at times, gassy and belly aching, some diarrhea, and a low grade fever. He was not eating well from the breast milk/formula mix so I gave just breast milk since it is easiest to digest. After a couple days of doing so, I realized this may be a set back in his weight so I contacted his doctors. We were directed to change the fortified formula from Neosure to Isomil (soy formula - which is easier to digest). He seems to be doing better on this mix. Hopefully the couple days of just breast milk won't cause too much of a weight loss or fluctuation. I did have my milk tested to find out how many calories I provide for him to see if we can eventually just give breast milk. I learned that my milk offers an average of 24 cal/fl.oz....the Neosure offers 22 cal/fl.oz. He was really loading up on calories! The Isomil only offers 20 cal/fl.oz so he is still getting a good amount of fortified milk. Later this month Grant will have a well check and we will then determine whether we can eliminate the formula all together and be able to just offer breast milk. I am hoping we can since my freezer is full of milk! I tried to offer some to the milk bank but they aren't able to accept due to medications.

We will have many upcoming doctor appointments in the next month. Here are some of the appointments so far:

     -- Well Check at Pediatricians
-- Cardiologist for EKG at Children's Hospital
-- Post-Op follow up on surgeries at Children's Hospital
-- Eye Clinic at Children's Hospital
-- ENT Clinic at Children's Hospital
     -- G.I. Clinic at Children's Hospital

Thank you ever so much for your unconditional love, support and prayers.
